Mineski submits new roster to join DAC

Mineski’s former Filipino-Malaysian roster, which saw moderate success by winning the Hitbox Obutto Championship, the MOL Dota 2 Championship in Malaysia and placing just short of a 3rd place finish at the OK.-Dota2 Cup 2014 will be no more as Siong Tait ‘JoHnNy’ Lee and frequent standin Soon Chuan ‘Ah-Fu’ Tue will be making way for Philippine Dota veterans Marc ‘Polo’ Fausto and Aaron ‘Yamaguchi’ Cuartero. Polo and Yamaguchi were former players of Click ‘n Search Gaming.

The announcement posted on Mineski’s website suggests the separation was amicable and that both parties had what’s best for the team in mind when they made the decision.

Rough translation of JoHnNy’s statment regarding the changes.

It is with a heavy heart to tell you guys that I am leaving team Gigabyte. Mineski. The main reason for this sudden departure is [the] communication problem. I feel that the team can’t show its full potential without clear and proper communication and I don’t want to be the hindrance to their improvement as a team.

This decision was civil and internally talked about. In my whole experience with the team I have learned a lot of things. I know these things will help me grow both as a player and as a person as well. I can also say that the Philippine fans are the best fans ever, no other country compares. I love you guys!

As for my teammates, I can say that these guys are very talented individuals and they have a bright future awaiting them. They will always be part of who I am as a player, [and] we will always be good friends. I wish them the best of luck in their future tournaments especially this upcoming Dota2 Asia Championship.

Maraming salamat po everyone!

Team captain ‘Jay’ also commented on the team members moving out and in to the team.

Johnny and AhFu will always be a significant part of our team’s improvement. They are our friends and they will remain our friends even if we know we will meet in competitions in the near future.

Although we are sad about their departure, I personally think that it would have happened eventually as communication has really been hindering us in bringing out our full potential as a team. Communication is key. As for Yamaguchi and Polo, these guys are in my opinion one of the most serious and stable players in the PH scene today. We have already started training and things are looking alright. Slowly and steadily I hope to lead this team to our ultimate goal. For now, we are focused on the upcoming Dota2 Asia Championship

Mineski will be competing with this new all-Filipino squad as they try to best 15 other teams for one of four spots in the Asian Qualifiers of the Dota 2 Asia Championship to be held later this month.

The Dota 2 Asia Championship is regarded as one of the biggest Dota 2 event outside of the International with a growing prizepool of what is now $1,000,000.
