[T/N: This image totally doesn’t look like him O. O]

Hello 430. Welcome to this interview with replays. net. First, let’s say hello to everyone.

Hello everyone. I am Dota player 430 from iG.

Dota 2 has become an official game at the WCG World Finals. This time, Dota professional gamers finally have the chance to showcase their skills at the WCG World Finals stage. How do you feel about that?

I feel very excited. WCG is an old school tournament, and I’ve had more of a yearning for it since young.

Dendi will be taking part in this WCG too. Both of you are the absolute top solo players in the world. Can you tell us how it feels going up against him? How will you prepare for the battle for this WCG?

Dendi is a player who plays in a more clever way. When playing against him, it’s usually in the mid-game in team fights where you feel that his usage of hero skills is really on point.

Chuan god will be unable to join iG during this WCG World Finals because of his nationality. What’s his reaction toward this?

I think it’s more towards sadness, having to miss out on such a big tournament.

We heard that CH will be replacing Chuan god in WCG, how good is his Dota 2? How has the training with him gone? Will there be a change in positions because of this inclusion of CH?

CH will be temporarily replacing Chuan in his position for WCG. CH plays pretty well in Dota 2 pubs. The training with us has also been not bad. He’ll be playing Chuan’s position, so there won’t be any changes.

During the G-1 offline event, you guys didn’t perform very well. There are a few opponent in WCG which are really strong too. Which adjustments have you all been doing during this time to prepare for this tournament?

We’ve been training hard, and adjusting our condition. We also did some analysis regarding the line-ups.

In your perspective, which team will be your greatest opponent for this WCG? I believe iG’s goal is definitely to win the championship. How confident are you of that?

DK and Navi I guess. As for winning the championship, about 50% confidence.

The tournaments within the country and outside of the country have basically all switched over to Dota 2, but Chinese teams definitely have a different type of affection towards Dota. Ig dota 2 interview What’s your view on this trend of tournaments switching over?

It’s just a general trend I guess. It feels like when people get more familiar with Dota 2 they’ll like it more.

The Dota 2 representative in China has been confirmed to be Perfect World. From the perspective of a professional gamer, can you give Perfect World any opinions or suggestions?

The experience of a newcomer to the game definitely must be properly done. After that it’s just the quality of the servers, and some preventions against plug-ins/hacks.

We know that you frequently play in-houses with Lin Jun Jie [T/N: Wait what?! Is this referring to that JJ Lin the Singaporean singer?]. This makes us very curious about the Dota 2 level of Lin Jun Jie. Does he follow the tournaments that you all play in? Do you all discuss with him about some of the problems faced in tournaments?

He’s at the level of the average pub I guess, and he doesn’t really follow the tournaments. He just plays it as entertainment when he has the time.

After the Team Invitational 2 in Seattle, the strategies and styles that are used in Dota 2 in teams within the country became more lively and diverse, and many heroes that have never made it to the clan wars stage have slowly been developed. iG definitely has the right to speak on this particular topic. Can you tell us what it is that instigated these changes, and what changes have there been in your mentalities?

Because there are some heroes which have much better projectiles in Dota 2 as compared to Dota 1, such as Tormented Soul and Queen of Pain. Also, there are some differences in the skills and mechanisms. That’s why some heroes that are very rarely picked in Dota 1 see a rise in terms of their popularity. In terms of our mentalities, we are more keen to playing some heroes which are less regularly picked.

For this WCG, is there any particular player or match that you are most looking out for?

Not at the moment.

There are two Mongolian teams taking part in this WCG, and you probably never played against them before, and there’s the possibility that they might have some special tactics. Do you feel pressured by this?

We’ll only know when we play, because there are many South-East Asian players who are really good at Dota 2.

WCG is a global tournament, and strong teams from every country come to compete against each other. Of course, whether it be Dota or Dota 2, the Chinese teams are ahead in terms of ability. What do you think is the reason that the Chinese teams are able to lead the world in terms of ability?

We are more professional [T/N: Professional as in “more like a job/living” professional] as compared to other countries. From what I know, most teams from other countries are online, and occasionally when there’s a major tournament they’ll gather to practise for a few days.

Having talked so much about tournaments, how about you tell everyone about your usual day-to-day stuff? Other than training, do you have any other hobbies? We all want to know how rich and colourful your life is.

Actually it’s very plain. Everyone usually just plays pubs on their own, or watch movies or read novels or stuff like that after training.

If iG wins the first Dota 2 tournament at WCG World Finals, and you’re asked to talk about how you feel on stage, what will you talk about?

I will say that a childhood dream has been fulfilled.

Interview with iG’s coach KingJ

At the Mars Dota2 League, KingJ, the recently appointed coach of IG talks about his views on the tournament, IG from the eyes of a coach and his time with TongFu.

Hi, thanks for KingJ accepting this interview. Please say hi to the viewers.

Hi everyone, I’m iG’s current coach, KingJ.

Having mentioned that you are iG’s coach, can tell us how you ended up taking up that role?

It’s mainly because of Burning. When BurNIng was playing in tournaments and lost his sense of direction, I chatted with him about strategies, through that, I heard that they needed a coach. So, I confirmed with them (IG) and one thing led to another resulting in them wanting me as a coach as much as I wanted to be their coach.

You have played with TongFu some time ago with the team achieved a less than ideal performance, what was the reason behind the poor performance?

When I first joined TongFu, I wanted to be a coach and not a player. But due to some internal issues that could not be solved, I left the team.

How is IG’s atmosphere currently? Do you think the rumors about internal issues have merit?

I have seen those speculations on the Internet, but after I joined iG, I don’t see the existence of any factors that affect team chemistry. I think this point of view comes from the fact that the rumors are from an outsider’s point of view which is very different from our own point of view. We shouldn’t care much about what people say.

Having been participating in this MDL event, how well do you feel the tournament is running, do you feel the format is reasonable?

I think the format of MDL is one of my personal favorite. It’s simple and quick. Competition should not be overly complicated, and I think that sometimes random factors should be used to decide a result. BO1 has lots of randomness inside, so it is one of the better tournament format.

For all the games played in group A, was there any game has left you a strong impressions?

I think every match in group A was alright, all the teams in group A were on a similar level, meaning that the quality of games were up to the viewer’s standards.

Group B will start tomorrow, are you confident that IG will advance to the next round?

We are highly confident as four out of five teams will advance. We expect ourselves to be better than the bottom 20% because we are one of the top teams and we cannot set our goal to be advancing from the group stage.

Who do you think is most likely to get eliminated in your group?

Compared to the other teams in the group, I think CDEC has limited experience, and does not have the same background as the other top teams. Even though they are better than last year, but they are still too young compared to the others.

Do you think there are huge differences between being a player and a coach? Will you stay on the role of a coach from now on?

The biggest difference between being a coach and a player is that you have to play and feel first before communicating. As a coach, you have to experience stuff with your own hands and as a player, you have to listen for the experience. I’m not sure if I will stick with a coaching role, I personally still prefer to play, but if I get a successful career as a coach, it will be a path I will consider. After all, people will have to change, and being one of the older generation players it’s about time I need to consider my future.

In your two former teams you have been coached by the famous Mikasa and 71, do these two coaches have differences and do you refer to your experience with them?

As for the referring to their experience, I think I will try 71’s coaching style, although 71 doesn’t play Dota, I can still learn a lot from the way he communicates and teaches. Although I am try 71’s coaching style, I will still try to have my own style of coaching since success will not happen if you just imitate the others.

The Chinese scene and 71 himself has repeatedly said he doesn’t play Dota, however I keep hearing him talk about heroes and strategies with pro players who will listen, why is that?

Well, he has much more experience than us and he is also very persuasive. When I talk to him, we both usually try to trick each other in revealing our strategies and views.

Thanks for the interview KingJ, do you have anything you want to say to your fans?

Hope everyone support me being a coach and hope everything with iG will go well. Thanks.
