Team/clan creation/recruitment facilitation

Problem:
I (and many players, I’m sure) don’t have many friends IRL who play DotA, but would like to get more competitive. Much of the discussion about competitive games/leagues, etc is limited to premade teams of 5. Not many people are calling for solo tournaments (where you get matched with different people in each game in the tournament). Thus, to play DotA at a competitive level, you must be part of a team. For some, this is not a problem. However, I’ve been trying for weeks to find a clan or team to join (using several websites and forums, as well as asking in-game), and it’s really not easy, unless I’m missing something. Even when people do find a group to play with, they might be incompatible due to different play times, skill levels, etc. I don’t want to be on a team with a bunch of noobs, nor with people who only play when I’m at work or asleep.

Solution:
An in-game or steam-based team-building function.

How it would work:

Input whether you would like to join a team, or whether you have a team/clan/league looking for more people.
Skill level would be input automatically from your hidden MMR/ELO that’s built into the dota 2 matchmaking system (which btw is why it would be nice to have this function rather than going around asking, since you never really know how good someone is. but Valve does!).
Amount of playtime, as well as distribution of playtime throughout the average week (what time of day, which days, how often for each, etc) would ALSO be input automatically (again, since this is data that Valve has, and again why it would be good to have this done through the game rather than just by asking people “when do you play”).
OPTIONAL: input either manually or automatically based on your game history which role(s) you play most, and/or which you play best.

The system would then put you into its database, and probably within 24 hours find people to match you with. You may then play with your new team of people who are at a similar skill level as you, and play during the same times of day as you, on the same servers as you. This could be either just to make 5-man teams, or to make (or help build further) clans of more than 5 people. One of the nicest things is that this greatly facilitates movement from one team to another, if a player decides that he doesn’t like a current teammate, or some players on the team improve faster than others, or someone quits, etc. You could also go into the system either alone, or grouped with one or more other people, or if one person from your 5-man team quits, you could ask the system to replace that person with a new one.

I think a system like this would really help people get into the more competitive side of DotA, and increase the number of people interested in tournaments, ranked-leagues, etc, which would thereby increase the quality of those tournaments. To me, this could revolutionize the game.
