If you wanna go raw HP and stats, Skadi is your way of choice. It gives you a little less HP but is overall a better item imo. Heart is always nice on heroes like Centaur or Pudge, though. Only problem I have with it: Expensive. And I don’t mean the overall cost but the cost of each item is too high imo for what it gives you.

agility gives armor and attack speed, perfect thing against other agility heros. this works better than raw damage items or raw hp items. so a heart of terask with battle fury would get destroyed by someone who has ethereal blade or any other agility heavy item(s).

now if you are a strength hero vs alot of agility heros a armlet would be a ton better than heart of terask, armlet and blade male, heaven’s halberd(disarm enemy auto attack and also gives dodge), satanic. but if your armor goes over 20 it is not cost effective to keep buying more armor, because the return on investment hits that curve where the efficiency of extra resistance percent per cost is starting to drastically reduce.

heart of terask mainly counters nukers, and true damage dealers, but agility will give the armor and attack speed needed to out fight agility heros, assuming you are an agility hero.

I know it gives you a bunch of HP and regen and it is good for pushers and Ursa but if a PA with her crits or another high DPS hero comes and starts hitting you then you can ♥♥♥♥ your HP and regen. Whan can you buy instead of Heart?

to sum it up. agility items. and if you are a strength hero, then heaven’s halberd, armlet, satanic, blademale, ect. and if your armor goes too high, it might be much more cost effective to get evade in addition, like a heaven’s halberd(which can completely disable their auto attack with it’s active and gives you dodge).

If you playing agility hero, picking up butterfly is usually a better choise, unless you got some in enemy team rushing true strike (aka Clinckz).
Satanic is pretty tanky item for a right click carry, might be worth picking up.
The most overrated item right now: Skadi makes you pretty tanky as well as giving many other stats, but note its not the best item for everyone (usually only good for characters lack 2 or more stat legit stat growth aka Slark, Sniper, Drow (altough some might consider this non-sense since she has her own slow)) so you better read the characters stat growth before.

skadi isn’t over rated, it is one of the most cost efficient attribute items in the game, and gives a powerful attack modifier and hp and mana on top of it already being one of the most cost efficient attribute items. by using the metric of 10 attributes for 1000 gold, skadi gives one of the higher surplus’s out of all the items. and with a similar cost to heart of terask, skadi is an legit item. just don’t buy it if you have an attack modifier that will interfere with it, or if someone else also has a skadi on your team it wouldn’t be as good to have 2, but even with out it’s attack modifer stacking it’s extremely stat efficient.

yes cheaper items like a ultimate orb are higher ratio of surplus, skadi has the highest surplus in extra atttiributes per cost, but isn’t the highest ratio, that is on the cheaper items. but if you compare like an ethereal blade, skadi will give more surplus in attributes.

the main problem with skadi, is that it gives way more mana, than what alot of people need, so thus it would be more productive to spend less gold on mana, and buy other items, instead, like armlet heart of terask combo, ect.
