The same goes for ranged but its only if they focus you .

If youre a stealthy hero like clinkz you must want to use bkb for a security . For example you go into their jungle and notice someone . You kill it and use your invi but someone got dust and disable so you use bkb to escape easily .

bkb is an advanced player item, i was 5k. i can tell you when to use it or buy it.

against luna. Dota 2 bkb item when she ults. magic resist item and hp are items won’t counter her ult as her ult does like 10k damage if she had refresher aghs, and if you had 6 heart of terasks you’d only have like 6k hp.

similarly buy it vs crystal maiden.

always buy it vs people who are building blood thorn. bkb will not only purge annd remove the silencer, it’ll remove everything about blood thorn’s active. this is great against people who buy blood thorn, like storm spirit. similarly bkb works against orchid which upgrades into blood thorn.

bkb is great vs phantom lancers mana burning, he’ll no longer mana burn you with bkb’s active being used. same is true with antimage’s mana burn he’ll no longer mana burn you. this means that phantom lancer doesn’t even really counter the people he counters if they buy bkb.

if you are luna and ulting an enemy who has blademale, you cann activate your own bkb as luna to prevent the returned magic damage from blademale. samme is true with crystal maiden.

bkb is extremely good on heros with channeled ults. enigma, which doctors, crystal maiden, pudge, bane, enigma, ect ect ect. all these heros if they get bkb it makes it significanntly harder to ruin their ults. linkins is similarly good on these heros aswell.

bkb is very good vs disrupter, you would then be able to walk through his circle wall like it’s not there, and his ult would do nothing to you. unless disrupter has aghs, but evenn then he’d have to place everything perfectly which is unlikely, you’ll be beat disrupter more times than vice versa is the likely outcome assuming it’s good players, anything is possible in trench tier though.

bkb is actually a good buy vs slark, as it counters slarks leash, you can walk out of the leash, but slark is a bit OP and even if you get bkb, slark has more tools than most heros can is more likely to win any given skirmish as slark has more control not vice versa. Dota 2 bkb item but bkb does help if you dont want to be trapped in slarks leash, it’s more reliable than stealth, and force staff won’t work vs the leash.

those are the main times to get bkb, also if you like are playing naga siren and netted earth shaker, and you got like 5 seconds to kill him, during that time is a good time to use bkb, and kill him without him able to counter stun you.

other than that, you can get other items, but in those situations bkb is legit.

if you really wanna practice with spell immunity i recommend playing heros like omni or lifestealer, whom will give you practice with spell immmunity. omni’s combo is walk up, hit them with your nuke, then spell immunity, once that ends your nuke is off cooldown again ready to use, they can only use right clicks and if you had radiance shivas and his 100 attack damage talent in the talent tree they won’t win the right click battles vs you as omni. but the ult is there for emergencies, and if you are heavily out numbered, omni can easily 1v5 this patch in most matches. or atleast i can as him. with those items i listed. i all you need is soul ring and can easily save up for radiance by 18 minute mark every match. but he can be played many ways, many “prefer him playing support” but with my build i literally 1v5 and win match myself, so there is no need to support, and i did that consistently with high win rate even in the 3k and 4k ranges, he isn’t like 5k range like meepo. but still legit.

and of course you can go view the table for bkb on the dota2 wiki page which gives you all the details of what it works again. i’d only recommend buying it in the situations above. other than that, you can do fine without it. but it’s kind of mandatory vs people who get blood thorn, and vs luna, and vs phantom lancer(if you are the kind of hero who doesn’t like manaburned). and it’s pretty mandatory on heros with channeled ults, most of those heros it’s probably better to get things like linkins and bkb before you get aghs, because their ults do enough damage already, you just need to focus on actually being able to ult.
