IMBA hero concepts: Bloodseeker
Hello, bloodbags. It’s time to open your veins!
Hero concepts disclaimer: Hopefully, these hero previews will make you eager to try out IMBA. 😉 but they are being presented so that we can improve on the current ideas (or pick new ones up)! Please comment or contact me by e-mail if you have any critique or suggestion about these hero concepts.
Strygwyr, the Bloodseeker
- Bloodrage:Bloodseeker always benefits from bloodrage’s heal-on-kill component; also, using bloodrage on himself does not trigger its cooldown. Damage amplification only applies one way: allies only deal increased damage; enemies only take increased damage, and do not heal after killing units.
- Blood Ritual: Damage and silence apply after 1 second. Applies Bloodrage to any unit (ally or enemy) caught in the AOE right before damage is dealt.
- Thirst: Thirst scales linearly from zero bonus at 100% health to the full bonus at 50%. Thirst’s bonus lingers for 3 seconds after a target dies. Vision and truesight are granted below the 50% health threshold. Maximum bonuses per enemy hero are 20/30/40/50% movespeed, and 20/40/60/80 damage.
- Rupture:Rupture deals 15/20/25% of the target’s maximum HP as pure damage when cast; the damage-when-moving effect gets 1% stronger for each 1% health the target is missing.
- Aghanim’s scepter upgrade:Rupture now has no damage limit for targets moving too fast – this means that using a town portal scroll while ruptured will usually result in instant death. Improves Bloodrage‘s damage amplification to 50%.
- Aghanim’s soul upgrade: Units killed when affected by Bloodrage now explode in a rain of blood, dealing 20% of their maximum HP as pure damage in a 400 AOE to enemies, and healing allies by the same amount. Also, all of Bloodseeker’s allies now receive the bonuses from Thirst.
Bloodseeker was recently reworked, and hasn’t really established his new identity deeply in our heads yet. With that in mind, I tried to change few things about his kit, making it overall stronger, and IMBAlanced. 🙂
Blood can now always benefit from Bloodrage‘s perks, and extend that to 1 or 2 allies at all times. Taking out the double-edged-sword aspect of the skill makes its usage more straightforward and bland, but was a necessary buff, in my opinion. Blood ritual becomes a huge teamfighting spell, and Thirst makes chasing immensely easier for Strygwyr.
Rupture is more powerful, and makes the “stay still and just fight bloodseeker” option much more difficult; building an aghanim’s scepter effectively ties the unfortunate ruptured enemy into a lose-lose situation. FInally, Aghanim’s Soul turns Bloodseeker’s whole team into Sonic the hedgehog, and amplifies wombo-combos’ damage potential immensely.
What do you think of the new Bloodseeker (both in regular dota and IMBA)? If you haven’t yet, try him out, he’s pretty fun and still full of new combos to discover! 😉
