Dota 2 Universe

Would it be safe to assume that Dota could be in the same universe as any of the other Valve game titles? I ask because they seem to do this with all their games and I can see Dota somehow fitting into the Portal or Half Life universe. This thought just popped up by the way because I was thinking of how I wanted a GLaDOS voice announcer for Dota 2.

Alright, now could you please elaborate on how the jumping donkey stick do you think could it fit into any of the universes. Aside from the boicarp parallel world Portal initiative excuse, I’m not seeing any other connections.

No, just no. It is obviously not, and would never make sense in being.

Besides, a GLaDOS announcer showing up would never mean the games are tied in the same universe, it’s just a voice.

Besides, going to the topic of the already overrated GLaDOS announcer, it might as well be a different character with a different voice, but their backstories would be similar as would their voices and personalities be. Both sides are happy, and the Kleiner announcer still makes absolutely zero sense.

Perhaps not for lore, but in a strictly utilitarian sense, it is completely acceptable. Now. one could argue the point of applying that rule to any number of potential announcers, but I say nay: it is most appropriate for Tinker/Kleiner, and I feel as if it is more of a case of the planets aligning. If that makes any sense.
Which it most certainly does not.

Of course in the slim chance that the mech Brood skin is added to the game, and the even slimmer chance that Broodmother gets custom lines for that skin, there would be a slight opening (for me) to give my nod of appropriation to the possibility of a GLaDOS announcer also being recorded.
Naturally, this is all most hypothetical, and by no means do I intend to incite any hatred and/or death threats (toward me or my family) for the mentioning of that one Brood skin.

I see no problem with being in the same universe.

So in Half Life 3 u will open accidently a portal to the DotA World and fight against the heroes! xD

But anyway. Its only Half Life and Portal in the same universe. afaik TF and L4D are not in the same universe with HL and Portal.

Universes are pretty big places, and both the Half-Life series and Dota 2 have more than one universe. They could take place on completely seperate planets that never become aware of each other’s existence and still technically take place in the same universe. Not that it would matter at all in that case, I guess.
